How does an 8 team double elimination bracket work?
Every competitor starts in the winners bracket. A first loss moves them into the losers bracket; a second loss removes them from the tournament. The two surviving paths meet in the grand final. This product uses a single final, so the undefeated finalist can finish second after one loss.

A competitor can still reach the final after one loss. Lose again in the lower bracket and the tournament run ends.
Meet in the grand final
The winners-bracket finalist faces the survivor of the losers bracket. The current preview and live tournament use one final, without an automatic reset.

A standard 8-player double-elimination bracket has 14 scheduled matches: 7 in the winners bracket, 6 in the losers bracket, and 1 grand final. A reset rule can add a 15th match.

It is a double-elimination bracket maker. Everyone starts in the winners bracket and moves to the losers bracket after a first loss. A second loss ends their run; this product's single grand final is the exception, with no automatic reset for the previously undefeated finalist.
How many games are in an 8 team double elimination bracket?
This generator schedules 14 games: 7 winners-bracket games, 6 losers-bracket games, and 1 grand final. Rules that include a reset can require 15, but neither this preview nor the current live tournament generates that extra match.
Does the generator save player names?
The preview runs locally and does not submit names or scores. When you choose to use these teams in a live tournament, the roster stays in this tab for up to 24 hours to continue after sign-in. Creating the live tournament saves names to your account.
Does the grand final reset?
No. Both the preview and live tournament use one grand final. The previously undefeated finalist can finish second after one loss. A reset would add a possible 15th match and must be arranged outside this tool.
